Combine the Best Ideas for a Guest Bedroom
Written by faith on November 2nd, 2009As an expert Seattle interior designer, my clients ask for help with their guest rooms. Especially as holiday events bring visitors to our homes, it’s helpful to gather together some of the best ideas for guest rooms.
Probably one key idea is to use one fabric for every major soft surface. That means using the fabric on the bed, possibly headboard, and at the window.

For a modern look, eliminate the bedskirt to expose the floor but choose a great blanket or tailored coverlet. Don’t stop now that you’ve taken care of the windows and bed. Select the paint most complementary to the fabric and the mood and emotion you want in your guest bedroom.
Accents to finish the guest room include reading lamps that are attractive and functional too. Leave some books and magazines for reading materials and be brave. Mix things up and add a punch of color on the bedside table. Fresh flowers complete the experience.
