Luxury Designer Escada shows off Kelly Green

Kelly Green is an emerging color from Fall Fashion Week

For this Seattle interior designer, it’s all about the connection color brings to our senses and that means emotions. Our emotions and senses are triggered by memories and the nostalgia around our previous experiences with color, places and favorites from our past. What memories do you have of kelly green, navy and yellow?

I’ve been noticing a pattern of new colors as I prepare to attend the High Point Market next month. Two textiles from Pearson caught my eye with Kelly Green and the other two trending colors, Navy and Canary Yellow.

Modern designs with florals are a leading trend

Mixing floral with a modern setting is the new trend

“Today’s designers are using pretty feminine florals in an entirely new way. Climbing vines live amicably alongside menswear-inspired fabrics and solids to achieve a truly modern look.” (Pearson Furniture blog)

Luxury Interior Designer Trend Spotter News

Do you know John Robshaw? As a luxury interior designer in Seattle and Bellevue and a trend spotter, he is on my radar. Recently, I viewed a presentation of his collection for Duralee Fabrics. I was not disappointed. Read more about my passion for textiles here.

In my humble opinion, John Robshaw is brilliant at textile design. He parlays his fine arts degree from Pratt and love of textile and traditional block printing to create a signature look. In his own words, ”I want all the colors, processes and designs from each culture to blend. I redesign them and mix up the processes in ways no one has ever done before. I try to edit them, learn from them, make them my own but retain their essence.”

Add Color Pops on your Patio with Colorful Containers

Written by faith | 2

If you need color on your patio to complement your plants, choose a colorful pot for a quick ‘color-pop’. In my Seattle outdoor space designs, I found colorful fiberglass containers from Old Town Fiberglass as a perfect solution. The pots are part of the overall color scheme for my outdoor furnishings. Here are some great examples:

On the Seattle Madison Park penthouse roof deck, we featured colorful lime green containers which coordinate with the Sunbrella fabrics used on the teak furniture. The image shows how the plants, containers and fabrics all harmonize for a Color Pop.

Do Colorful Outdoor Fabrics Add Personality to Your Patio?

Written by faith | 0

The short answer, ABSOLUTELY! From my designer view in Seattle, color on your patio and outdoor space adds a feeling, mood, vibe that tells your family and friends about you. So express yourself. Never before has such an opportunity been available between fabrics, furniture and accessories. Take advantage and step away from cookie cutter outdoor furniture sets and cushions. Be brave and show your color sensibility.
