Ebony and Ivory Geometric Rugs = High Style Interiors
Written by faithThe April issue of Veranda features the interior of a townhouse by designer sisters Kelli Ford and Kirsten Fitzgibbons. This Seattle interior designer is enthralled and inspired by the geometric elements of fabrics, rugs, pillows against the calm ivory, serene contrasts. It is stunning and I absolutely love the rug by Stark.
That geometric rug inspiration led to the discovery of a rug designed by Kim Alexandriuk for Doris Leslie Blau as part of her Modern Primitive collection. It’s another stunning rug to use as a definition for a black and ivory/white interior.
Kim’s rug was featured in the current issue of Traditional Home. According to the article, “Alexandriuk was inspired by textiles from Africa and the Southwest Pacific to create carpets that breezily cross borders. Her striped cotton dhurrie is based on a North African Abaya textile work as a coat by tribesmen.”
