Nancy Corzine’s Artisan Seattle Roots

Written by faith

This expert Seattle interior designer loves the history of design richly woven in Seattle as her inspiration. Take for instance, Nancy Corzine.

As Nancy Corzine grew up in Seattle, WA, she absorbed family inflences which continue to influence her design. Her father was a wood work artisan and her mother a weaver. “My father had built a loom for my mother; it was enormous and sat in the middle of our living room. Instead of gorilla, we called it the 900 pound loom in the room.” says Corzine. Corzine’s father hand-crafted something else when she was a little girl that would serve to foreshadow her future occupation, it was an exquisite doll house. “I constantly re-decorated the dollhouse. I played with it for hours on end.”

She opened her first showroom on Melrose Place in Los Angeles in 1983. The rest is history as Corzine’s furniture, fabrics and lightening fixtures are represented in showrooms around the world and her own retail lifestyle stores in locations like Palm Beach and, yes, Southampton. For over 25 years her signature designs and interior design installations have graced the homes of celebrities worldwide.

Her new book serves,as an instructional manual for achieving the glamorous look that is the signature of Corzine’s design style.
