Quick Fixes Countdown - 18 Days till Christmas

Written by faith on December 8th, 2009

This expert Seattle interior designer thought November sped by way too quickly! Now the real countdown is upon us. My clients and commenters ask about quick fixes… things they can do easily and inexpensively to prepare for the holiday entertaining schedule. No matter how casual, informal or elaborate, somehow you sense the eyes are likely noting your decor and sharing a conversation or two afterwards. How about a few quick updates that will leave holiday guests with a lasting good impression. Here are some thoughts:

  • Painting is first — and the most economical . Out of time to paint the entire room? Paint one wall as an accent. Choose the wall that anchors furniture or the facing when sitting down.
  • Add a mirror - a big, bold-framed mirror and put some wow in your room.
  • Area rugs add instant character and are an excellent value for your investment.
  • Drapery panels, ready made, finish a room. Don’t be skimpy though… add extra if the window is wide.

I love these ideas! We pull all of our regular home decorations down at Christmas and replace them with Holiday themed decorations!
