Seattle Interior Designer Goes to Fashion Week

Written by faith

Last week, I promised you details of my trip to New York City for Fashion Week, courtesy of Brizo. Despite the blizzard, I managed to have a fantastic time with my group of fellow interior design bloggers from around the country. We stayed at the elegant Eventi Hotel in the heart of Manhattan and were treated like royalty. Now I know how the Oprah Winfrey audience feels on “Favorite Things” day!

We were treated to a delicious dinner one night at Sur La Table. Brizo even gave us our own chef jackets!

I’m on the left with Susan Jamison and Elza Hirsch - enjoying our jackets!

Rain, sleet and snow didn’t stop the avid fans of Jason Wu. With Adele and Annie Lennox as background music, Jason showed off his clean, luxury style, highlighting black, white and red. I loved the peplum waistline and epaulet shoulder details along with the movement of his fabrics.

We toured the Hearst Building and saw the wow view from the 40th floor. At Elle Decor Amy Preiser shared trend alerts and social media conversation. The testing floor for the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval was a winner and added nostalgia.

Finally, the finale and a private reception (with a very weary, hoarse) Jason Wu himself. What a modest and supremely talented fashion design superstar.

As snow filled the patios outside, we toasted to our friendships, Brizo and Jason Wu. We’ll have a reunion this July in Memphis… so stay tuned.
