Style and Taste-mine and yours

Written by faith on August 24th, 2008

It seems that every client or potential client inquires about what ‘taste’ means. So this post shares a quote by fashion designer, Norma Kamali which is an effective answer for me.

“Taste is an evolution and refinement of one’s personal likes and dislikes. This evolution takes place with a constant curiosity and interest in everything. The editing consequently refines the choices and defines taste.”

I would love to hear your thoughts about what defines taste for you.

Taste is unique for all with respect to design. I looked up the definition of the word on dictionary.com and tend to agree with the overall concept of this statement: Taste is a personal sense of what is fitting, harmonious, or beautiful. The fact that one’s taste evolves with time is so true! Thanks for the thought provoking question. And congratulations on starting your Blog!

To me, “taste” is a tool that can be used, sort of like a strainer, to yield great style.

Congrats on the blog! Looks great!
