What’s in Your She-Space?

Written by faith | 0

Yesterday, I talked with Seattle friends over lunch about how they would design their ‘she-space‘. Yes, as an interior designer in Seattle, I know personal space is essential for re-charging. The ‘man cave’ is universal and part of our everyday speech and usually involves a big screen and leather furniture. But what exactly is a ‘she-space’. I describe a ‘she-space’ as somewhere in your home where you can escape to read, relax, knit or even meditate to reconnect with yourself.

What goes in the ‘She-Space‘?

  1. A comfortable place to sit for yourself and a friend.
  2. A place to store books and magazines.
  3. Connections for your IPod, Kindle, laptop or IPad.
  4. A lamp for reading or working on a hobby.
  5. Baskets or bins to keep clutter at bay.

In this image, a garden room niche is a perfect ‘She-Space’ escape. Comfortable chairs, plenty of light plus plants and a view create a personal space to relax.

At Faith Sheridan Design Group, we help you create an inviting, comfortable space - a personal ‘She-paceS’. Call us today 206.437.8000.
