As the dreariness of winter ends and marigolds pop up for cheer, I’m thinking Spring table settings. Lunches, dinners in your home or patios and roof decks are perfect opportunities to create an appealing spring table setting.
Spring holidays and special occasions bring opportunities to celebrate at the table and add a splash of color and design with your table settings. From tableware to flatware and linens you have all the fixings to make your event look outstanding.
I love an invitation to someone’s home that includes a tasty meal, great conversation and Washington or Oregon wine. What’s even more special for me is the eye appeal of the table created by my host and hostess. It’s a canvas of inspiration in table setting colors.
In our often frenetic world, where we hurry and rush, the sheer luxury of a dinner or luncheon in a friend’s home is a welcomed event. A thoughtful table setting tells our guests that they are special to us.
- Where to begin? Inspiration arrives from all kinds of different places: your dishes, travel, table linens, or a favorite color palette to share with guests. Gather your inspirations, and start creating. I enjoy mixing up my table settings. So I select a variety of stemware and dishes using different colors, styles and patterns.
- What will be your centerpiece? Do you have a special vase or basket? a favorite flower? Simple or fancy don’t forget candles. Candles make everything seem special.
- Finish your table setting with some whimsy. A small gift or favor wrapped or tied cleverly. Maybe candy tied up with a ribbon. It’s all about expressing yourself and celebrating spring.
