Coffee tables are eye-candy for you and your guests. And they need seasonal “refreshing”. This post is about my favorite tools to create beautiful coffee tables.
Just last week I stopped at West Elm for a presentation tray (another topic) and saw many in great colors, patterns and sizes. Perfect for an update and affordable too.
The idea here is to add color and contrast. So in this image you see bold colors and interesting titles too. Add a simple vase with flowers and use the books as a platform. Change of heights is good.
Never out of style and a great storage place for remotes, napkins, coasters and such ~ I love the versatility of boxes.
What’s your accent color? A great way to reinforce it is with a colored vase on the coffee table. Add multiples if you have the space and group them. Vases can be whimsical, architectural, textural. Choose some you like and rotate them. This time of year flowers are abundant at your local farmer’s market. Here in Seattle, I’m loving the dahlias and sunflowers.
Many of my clients collect pottery in their travels. These mementos remind them of a culture, favorite stop or even an artist. Antique and estate sales are great places to search for pottery. I love Art Deco and those from Italy.
Hope I’ve inspired you to refresh your coffee table with theses ideas. The resources may be in your own home, your parent’s or grandparent’s attic. But resources are abundant and such an easy change adds fresh new inspiration to your coffee table.
