No surprise for most of us, the heart of the home is our kitchen and nearby living areas. This room is where we live and gather. Whether beginning or ending our day, the kitchen beckons us along with family and friends. Nearby family inspired the design of this home and especially the kitchen. Grandchildren stop by along with their parents to catch up on the day.
And with this project and design, an opportunity for using Ann Sacks tile to emphasize the design presented itself. Note the tile behind the Wolf range and how it centers the kitchen design.
Both family friendly and featuring the latest appliances, more than one cook can work on a creation in this kitchen. The expansive island with honed granite is perfect for quick snacks and hors d’oeuvre as delicious smells entice those seated at barstools. Pull out your iPad or laptop and look at email and news.

Over two years ago we designed this remodel of a Ralph Anderson home in north Capitol Hill. Signature features of his work are evident with balconies front and back and curved stairs that invite family and guests to enjoy the heart of the home on the upper level or the cozy family room below.
Remodeling can be a exhausting and seem unending. But one of the major benefits is the opportunity to rethink your spaces and then design them to support how you live. What I particularly like about this home is the flow from room to room and level to level. And certainly the kitchen takes front stage as the heart of the home.
