This post is all about BlogTourNYC 2014 Part 2 and the day we visited the Architectural Digest Home Show. Held at Pier 94 this quote describes the show, “A world of design inspiration awaits at the 13th annual Architectural Digest Home Design Show. SHOP the latest furniture, accessories, lighting, art, kitchen, bath and building products for all your design projects.”
The annual kick-off event, aptly titled, Mary’s and Mimosas by the founder of Modenus, Veronika Miller started the day.
I was able to see some social media friends like Susan Serra in real time. Exploring the show was a designer treat. Some of my favorites were the new glass option from Miele called Chocolate Truffle. This I already know will be a perfect finish for my neck of the woods here in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
Miele introduced its new Combi-Steam Oven. As its name implies, this latest oven innovation combines the power of steam and convection technology into one appliance.
The cabinet details and finishes from Rutt Cabinetry also captured my attention. White cabinets are classic but the soft gray Keswick Oak finish at Rutt was a favorite and on trend. In the display it was accented by the crisp white Miele glass.
An excellent presentation by Kim Lewis (who makes me look tall) for Prizer Hoods details this collection which offers over 750 colors, 15 custom metals, 10 textures, 42 profiles, and unique trim options in a full range of styles. Look at the lovely brass details and understand brass is back.
The finale of the day was visiting the dazzling DIFFA Dining by Design. Yes, the photos by Keith Scott Morton are breath-taking and I LOVE Fendi Casa’s table designed by Philip Gorrivan. Clockwise: Philip Gorrivan, Maya Romanoff’s table designed by Kara Mann, Gaggenau’s booth designed by Stephanie Goto and Roche Bobois’s table designed by Hariri & Hariri
Yes, this Seattle interior designer enjoyed herself as you clearly can see. If you want to discuss the latest in luxury, call us 206.973.3743.
