Custom Tile Patterns Add Appeal In Bathrooms

In about one week, I’ll know the outcome of my judging of the Portland Street of Dreams. This Seattle interior designer eagerly anticipates the news. From all accounts the response to this year’s homes is outstanding. I found so many ideas of value in all the homes and in particular the clever tile patterns created by the design teams. In my design projects, I enjoy creating detail and eye appeal using a mix of tiles. So I appreciated the same in the homes I saw. I want to share them with you now.

The 20/20 home by Bernard Construction featured an Asian contemporary theme executed with great attention to detail. The designer, Susan Green, displayed her expertise throughout the home. Take a look at the tile patterns I found in this home.

Clever use of tile sets this shower apart in the 20/20 Bernard home.

Here are two other ones from the same home.

What an elegant statement this tile pattern makes.

Many of the homes showed off tile creativity by combining cost effective basic tiles with clever use of mosaics. I liked this one for a tub surround.

Graphic use of monochromatic tiles adds punch.
