Yes, All About A Merry Christmas and Entertaining. Whether it’s your mantel, your tree or the other displays of your holiday sentiment, this is the time of year to share and express. Plus make a plan to entertain to keep the memories coming. All the memories of Holidays past bubble up when we bring out our decorations and reconnect with those memories. I truly love this time of year just for that alone. I treasure the handmade ornaments made by my daughter and seeing them brings up a whole host of images of her making them at the Children’s Museum in Portland where we lived at the time. This is an example of one:

But then WE grow up, and WE have mantels, trees and all the rest and WE want to make them our own.

Then, we dust off the dining room table, taking a long hard look in the room we seldom use. No pressure, correct? This holiday season, how about a resolution to entertain and gather around your dining room table with people you love? Add good food and great conversation, bubbly and you’re set.

And don’t stress if you find yourself unhinged with the seeming complexity of a dinner for friends and family. Delegate ~ take the pressure off and ask for guests to bring ‘favorites’ whether appetizer, wine or dessert. There’s also your local Whole Foods and neighborhood deli to make it easy. Involve everyone with the tasks or you can set the table in advance. Remember it’s all about spending time with family and friends and celebrating.
