Are you over Shades of Gray? but interested in gray interiors for your kitchen? Well this Seattle interior designer’s post is for you. For the past few years gray wood tones and paints exhibit staying power in interior designs. The neutral opportunity from a gray selection makes it a popular choice for new and remodeled kitchens.
A soft gray custom stain on contemporary cabinets refreshes a kitchen remodel project like this one I did one year ago in downtown Seattle.
Does your kitchen have reddish-orange cabinets? Many homes I see do and even though the cabinets are well made, it’s a distraction and dates the kitchen. So what to do?
Use gray paint to complement! Painting or stripping and re-staining is time consuming, tedious and if done by a pro, expensive.
But here’s a salvo to put to use ~ use a shade of gray. That wood color will look intentional and beautiful. The color wheel designers talk about provides the clue as the colors are opposite one another on the color wheel.
